Tick Kit Guide

Learn about preventing ticks, treating bites, and enjoying nature with ease.

This season, don't go camping, hiking, or even out the door without throwing a tick kit in your bag or car!

There is growing awareness around the potential of tick bites this time of year and the potential injury they carry with them. While many of us do our best to deter these irritating arthropods they are relentless when it comes to latching onto us. Safe and timely tick removal can reduce your risk of infection with Lyme disease and other tick-borne illnesses.

If you have ever found a tick on yourself or a loved one you may remember the feelings of panic and distress when trying to recall how to remove it and what to do for post-bite care. The longer the tick stays burrowed the greater the risk for infection, making it a time-sensitive task.

Having a portable “Tick Kit” for removing and treating tick bites can be an effective way to prevent the transmission of harmful pathogens and bacteria they carry.

What is in the tick it?

  • This tick removal device uses natural forward leverage to remove the entire tick – head and all – quickly and safely without touching or squishing even the toughest engorged ticks. Never squeeze, burn, apply oils or twist. Remove at the head with the tick key. Pull the tick straight out with steady, even pressure. Be patient.

  • Andrographis and Knotweed are two important herbs when fighting off pathogens. Apply Ticked Off Antibacterial topically to the bite to soak in. Japanese knotweed contains the chemical polyphenol resveratrol which is known to have anti-inflammatory properties. Japanese Knotweed Root is highly effective against spirochetes (Lyme bacteria) and in studies has outperformed pharmaceutical antibiotics.

The second key ingredient is Andrographis. Andrographis is an immune stimulant that allows the body to more quickly recognize an invader and is also effective against borrelia species. It is specifically recommended for tick bites. Andrographis is extremely antibacterial and when mixed with the clay this mixture can help draw the bacteria out of the skin. This application can help immensely in reducing the chance of an active infection.

Ingredients: Organic Andrographis, Organic Plantain, Organic Knotweed, Organic Vodka

  • A mixture of oils and herbal ingredients that work to draw toxins from your skin. This paste is not only great for tick bites but can be used on mosquito bites, wasp or bee stings, blisters, boils, and other minor infections.

Apply liberally to the bite. For small children who tend to brush it off or in places where clothes may rub it off, use cotton gauze or bandaid over the clay.

Ingredients: Organic Coconut oil, Organic Beeswax, Organic Shea butter, Organic Tapioca flour, Bentonite clay, Magnesium oil, Activated charcoal, Ozonated castor oil, Organic Essential oil blend: frankincense, lavender, yarrow, niaouli, and rosemary.

  • When taking homeopathic remedies, avoid taking remedy immediately before or after eating.

Take homeopathic ledum 30C by placing 2 pellets under your tongue and allow it to melt. Do not touch the pellets, simply drop them from the container under your tongue, Repeat 3x a day for 7 days total.

  • A strong immune system can reduce chances of transmission. Immune health is key!

Astragalus - Strengthens the body against disease. It is called an adaptogen, meaning it helps protect the body against various stresses, including physical, mental, or emotional stress. It also contains antioxidants which protect cells against damage

Ginger - Another powerful inflammatory whose energy is spicy, hot, aromatic and dry. Used as a circulatory tonic to nourish the giving and receiving nature of love.

Reishi mushroom - Known as the ‘king of mushrooms’ because they work as an ‘immune modulator. Reishi mushrooms can help restore hormonal balance, bring them back to homeostasis and regulate the immune system. Useful for fighting tumors and cancerous cells.

Slippery elm - Rich in mucilage, the active ingredient that forms the “gruel” that soothes and nourishes the mucous membranes throughout our body. It acts as an emollient that soothes and softens inflamed skin due to wounds, cuts, boils and bites.

Ingredients: Organic Astragalus, Organic Ginger, Organic Reishi Mushroom, Organic Slippery Elm, Organic Glycerine, Organic Vodka.
